Dr. Bredenkamp is passionate about nursing and nursing education and finds inspiration from Steve Jobs when he stated, “your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do”.
After working in the emergency room as an RN, Dr. Bredenkamp began teaching courses to other nurses. It was through this experience that she began to pursue a faculty position at Creighton College of Nursing. She says, “being able to practice as a family nurse practitioner and help other nurses reach their dreams is exciting and rewarding.”
Her ongoing research interests include interprofessional education for online students and simulation.
Dr. Bredenkamp received her BSN from Creighton University and her PhD in Nursing Education from the University of Northern Colorado. In addition to academia, Dr. Bredenkamp enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the movies and music.
