Jay Carney, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Theology, has published For God and My Country: Catholic Leadership in Modern Uganda, with the Cascade Press Studies in World Catholicism series. The book examines the compelling biographies of seven grassroots and national leaders in postcolonial Uganda, exploring how each embodied key themes in Catholic social teaching in the public square.
Carney received support from the George F. Haddix Faculty Research Fund, the Kripke Center, the College of Arts and Sciences Summer Faculty Research Fellowship, and the Fulbright Foundation.
Carney is a full time faculty in the Christian Spirituality master's program.
