Intro Text
Gain an in-depth understanding of medical sciences and learn to apply it in an academic or clinical environment through Creighton University’s Master of Science in Medical Sciences (MMS) program. This 11-month master’s program is ideal for students looking to fill a gap year, as it can lead to the next step in your career as a medical sciences teacher, further graduate study, or a career in a health care profession such as medicine or dentistry.
Description
Current student shares what she finds most valuable about the Medical Sciences (MMS) program.

In keeping with the Jesuit tradition of educating the whole person, the Master of Science in Medical Sciences program develops students as well-rounded individuals. You’ll be inspired to think critically about pressing topics, engage in conversations about research ethics and spark your creative inquiry. Research at Creighton is mission-driven, making your work part of a larger effort to serve others and create a more just world.

Learn to care for the whole person—in more ways than one

In the MSMS degree program, you’ll take courses in everything from human gross anatomy and neuroanatomy to pathology, surgery, radiology and embryology. Before working as a teaching assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to dissect the human body, attend autopsies and surgeries, and discuss critical scenarios with other students in your cohort.

True to Creighton’s dedication to Ignatian values and the School of Medicine’s mission, students in the medical sciences master’s program learn to care for the whole person from a clinical and service standpoint. In addition to your coursework, you’ll take time to give back to the community through service projects with local high schools and community colleges.

Your professors will work closely with you—guiding your studies and acting as teachers, advisors and mentors throughout your degree and career. Many of our faculty members collaborate and work with students long after they earn their degree.
