If you earned a degree in occupational therapy, physical therapy, or a rehabilitation-related field outside of the U.S. as an undergraduate student, Creighton University offers two graduate degree programs that will expand your career options and leadership potential: The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy or the Master of Science in Rehabilitation.

Description

With both the occupational therapy master’s and the rehabilitation master’s programs, you will develop and refine the basic skills and knowledge you acquired in an undergraduate degree program in rehabilitation or related field, occupational therapy or physical therapy. You will gain advanced clinical, academic and research skills, in addition to knowledge and experience at a school known for excellence in the health sciences.

The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree will provide occupational therapists who have graduated from a World Federation of Occupational Therapy (WFOT) accredited program an advanced degree in clinical occupational therapy practice, leadership and education.

The Master of Science in Rehabilitation with a focus in occupational therapy will provide rehabilitation professionals who have been educated or trained outside of the United States with an advanced degree in clinical and translational rehabilitation science.

Program Goals and Curriculum

Creighton’s Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and Master of Science in Rehabilitation prepare student for leadership roles in academic or health care environments as faculty, managers, and clinical experts who have the potential to act as change agents in health care.

To earn this master’s degree, you must study in the United States for three semesters.

First Semester:

Specific Application Requirements

To be considered for admission to the MS in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation programs, applicants must:

Complete an application and submit a $50 application fee
Possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3.0 GPA or higher
Provide in English official transcripts from all educational institutions attended. Read more about sending transcripts here
Submit your resume or curriculum vitae
Submit a personal statement (minimum two pages; no longer than four pages): Based on your CV/resume and your other application materials, we should have a good picture of where you have been and what you have done, with a focus on the goals you have set for yourself, and why this program is a good fit for you.
Submit two letters of recommendation from persons other than friends or family members (please use the electronic recommendation process with the online application)
Demonstrate proficiency in English by submitting a minimum TOEFL score of 80 iBT (213 CBT/550 PBT) or IELTS score of 6.0 or Duolingo 105
Complete and submit a Certification of Available Finances Form through the Global Engagement Office if admitted

International students are welcomed into this program and F-1 visas will be supported upon admission.

Preferred candidates for the Master of Science in Rehabilitation will be graduates of a foreign (non-U.S.) rehabilitation program with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy, physical therapy or a rehabilitation-related field.

Preferred candidates for the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy will be graduates of a WFOT accredited foreign (non-U.S.) occupational therapy program with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy.
