Program Goals and Curriculum
The Master of Education in Secondary School Teaching program is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in teaching, or for current teachers who lack full certification. This accelerated program gives students the ability to advance their careers as teachers in just 14 months.
To earn this master’s degree, you must complete 28-30 credit hours:

- Facilitating Student Responsibility
- Human Relations and Cultural Diversity
- Foundations of Education Seminar I
- Teaching Residency in Grades 7-12
- Differentiating Instruction and Literacy Strategies in Grades 7-12
- Contemporary Teaching Methods in Your Content Area, Grades 7-12
- Foundations of Education Seminar II
- Clinical Practice (Student Teaching)
- Growth and Development of Children and Adolescents
- Instructional Technology for the Classroom
- Foundations in Catholic Education (optional)
